Volunteer Week 2015 in KFL&A
It's Volunteer Week in Canada. There are thousands of volunteers in Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington -- we tell the story of two of them.
Our agency runs on teamwork. We rely on a variety of people and organizations to help us keep children safe and keep families together. Volunteers play an important role. From driving children to and from appointments to spending time with individual children and visiting families, they are an essential part in our work. If you are interested in making a difference in the lives of children and families in our community, volunteer with us. You’ll work with a team of people who value your efforts.
Our volunteers are men and women, young and old, single and partnered, students, working people, and retirees. They come from diverse cultural, racial, ethnic, and religious groups.
There are a variety of volunteer positions with our agency. Some volunteers work directly with children and families by becoming special friends or tutors. Others participate in children's groups or take part in ongoing programs that benefit both children and their parents. Some help transport children where they need to go. Some serve on our Board of Directors or help with our fundraising activities. Here are some of the possible volunteer roles available:
