Student Opportunities

The Family and Children’s Services of Frontenac, Lennox and Addington accepts students for placement who are enrolled in a post secondary education program, such as Social Work program, Child and Youth Worker, Social Service Worker, Autism and Behavioural Science, etc.

Interested students are asked to forward a recent copy of their resume along with a letter of interest outlining the institution and year of study, along with dates of placement. Once documentation is received, students being considered will be contacted by telephone to participate in an interview process.

Every summer Family and Children's Services of Frontenac, Lennox and Addington offers employment opportunities from May to August for students enrolled in post-secondary education programs. Programs include, but not limited to; Bachelor of Social Work, Master of Social Work, Child and Youth Worker, Social Service Worker.

Recruitment for summer students begins in early March. Required applicants for summer employment must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Currently completing a College Diploma or University graduate degree and returning to school in the fall
  • Knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act and Ministry standards and guidelines
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Possess valid G class driver's license with access to a vehicle
  • Excellent organization, planning and writing skills
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Ability to effectively respond to crisis situations to ensure child safety
  • Proficiency in Windows environment using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Flexible hours of work may be required
  • Criminal Reference Check
  • Due to subsidy requirements, must be between the ages of 18 - 24
