Norma Jean Barrett replaces Dan Corbett as Chair
Norma Jean Barrett, CD, JD, LLM has been named the new Chair of the Board of Directors of Family and Children's Services of Frontenac, Lennox and Addington. Lawyer, retired military officer and Queen’s University employee, Barrett replaces Dan Corbett who will become Chair Emeritus on the Board.
Barrett is a graduate of the Royal Military College of Canada, Queen’s University, and York University. After serving as a Logistics Officer for a number of years, she studied law and was called to the bar in 2012. She served as a legal officer until her retirement from the Canadian Armed Forces after 27 years of service. In 2019, Barrett began working for Student Affairs at Queen’s University. Throughout her life, Norma has always prioritized serving her community as a volunteer. Norma began her work with the FACSFLA Board of Directors in 2017 and prior to her appointment as the Chair, she served as the Secretary, Vice Chair, and as the Chair of the Governance Committee.
