The person teaching our kids how to read has a tail and says "woof!"

Sandy is a therapy dog who is teaching our kids how to read. This summer, nine of our kids went to Harrowsmith Public School to play with Sandy and then read to her. It's part of the Paws for Stories reading program managed by St. John Ambulance. Research shows that children with severe reading challenges find it easier to practice reading to a therapy dog like Sandy. The kids came, played with Sandy and then read to her. They felt better and they read better. And Sandy got lots of treats! Join us in thanking Sandy and St. Ambulance for helping our kids!
